How to File a Case at the Dubai Rental Dispute Center (RDC)

🟢 Introduction

The Dubai Rental Dispute Center (RDC) is the official legal body responsible for resolving rental disagreements between landlords and tenants in Dubai. Whether you're facing eviction, non-payment, or tenancy contract issues, RDC provides a structured way to file a case and get a resolution.

At Al Mumayaz Group, we assist clients at every step — from document preparation to legal translation and filing — making the entire process smoother, faster, and more affordable.

📌 When Should You File a Case at the RDC?

You can approach RDC for cases such as:

  • Non-payment of rent

  • Illegal eviction

  • Early termination disputes

  • Maintenance negligence

  • Security deposit conflicts

The RDC ensures legal fairness for both landlords and tenants under Dubai’s tenancy laws.

🗂 Steps to File a Case at the Rental Dispute Center (RDC)

Step 1: Try to Settle the Dispute AmicablyAlways attempt to resolve the issue through communication or mediation before legal escalation. If unresolved, proceed with RDC.

Step 2: Prepare the Required DocumentsYou will need:

  • Valid tenancy contract

  • Emirates ID and passport copy

  • Ejari registration certificate

  • Proof of payment (receipts or bank transfers)

  • Communication history (emails, WhatsApp, etc.)

Step 3: Translate Your DocumentsAll documents must be in Arabic. That’s where our certified legal translation team comes in. We ensure all your paperwork is accepted by the RDC and translated with legal accuracy.

Step 4: Submit the Case to RDCYou can submit your case:

  • Online via Dubai REST or DLD portal

  • Or in person at the Dubai Land Department – RDC counter

You’ll be required to pay an administrative fee, usually around 3.5% of the annual rent, with a minimum of AED 500 and a maximum of AED 20,000.

Step 5: Attend the Hearing & Get a DecisionA judge will review the case and may schedule a hearing. Both parties will be heard before a final verdict is issued. Decisions are enforceable and can lead to legal orders, including eviction or payment obligations.
